Roles and Authorizations in the Clinical Work Station
When describing the set-up and use of the Clinical Work Station, we have to distinguish between the tasks and requirements of the user and those of the system administrator:
Users work with preconfigured Clinical Work Stations. They must occasionally change the selection of data displayed, but should not be confronted with system settings.
Example
Admission clerk
Data entry clerk for preregistrations
The system administrator sets up views and work environments quickly and easily by means of user-friendly functions. The system administrator sees the views that he or she sets up exactly as the user sees them. For this reason, a separate function for setting up views is not provided. All the functions are available directly in the Clinical Work Station for users with the necessary authorization.
To work with the clinical work station you require an authorization of the authorization object N_WPLACE
. In the authorizations for this object, you can restrict the views in the Clinical Work Station to specific organizational units and building units.
For more information about the authorization object, see the authorization object documentation in the system.
To be able to set up the various specifications of the Clinical Work Station (for example, Care Unit Work Station, Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility Work Station) for the users, the system administrator must be assigned an authorization of the N_VM_DEF
authorization object.
Caution
The number of users authorized should be limited, because changes made to settings in the clinical unit work station have an effect on all users using these views and work environments.
For more information about the authorization object, see the authorization object documentation in the system.
For more information about setting up the Clinical Work Station for system administrators, see Setup Functions for System Administrators.
