PMD Transport Workbench: Distribute Tab Page
The functions on the “Distribute“ tab page are used to provide a document category which exists on a client of your system with all definition elements, to other clients and institutions of your system, without always copying all definition data.
It is not necessary to copy the entire document category. You only need to enter the header information on the document category to the required clients/institutions. You do not need to generate objects as these are available throughout the system. Following distribution the document category can immediately be used on one or more target clients/institutions. You can also simultaneously distribute several document categories in several clients/institutions.

The Distribute tab page is divided into two areas which are organized as tables.
Document Categories area
Clients/Institutions area
Furthermore the tab page contains the 
Distribute
(Distribute Entries
) function key for the further processing of the table entries.
Functions in the Document Categories Area
In this area you create a list of the document categories which you wish to distribute.
In addition to the standard table functions Detail

Load Document Categories |

The list contains the following information on the displayed document categories:
Status; Indicates whether there is only header data, whether there is only a definite design and whether the abstract and definite design are identical or not.

VNo; The highest existing version number is displayed
CautionDocument categories which are not generated and document categories which only have header data cannot be distributed.

Functions in the Target Clients/Institutions Area
In this area you determine where the document categories should be used in future.

Activities
In the Document Categories area you generate a list of the document categories which you wish to distribute and select the desired entries.
In the Target Clients/Institutions area you generate a list of target clients/institutions in which you wish to use document categories in future.
Choose
(Distribute
). The program creates header records for all selected document categories in all elected clients and institutions. If the document categories are not generated, the system will not distribute and will display a corresponding message.
You will receive a message once distribution is complete.
Result
The document categories are now available for use on all selected clients/institutions.
Caution
Further distribution, copying or editing of copies is not possible. Always use the original document category for this.
