Function documentationService Planning by the Requester

If you perform services that require the physical presence of the patient, then an outpatient appointment must be made for the patient with the performing organizational unit (OU). The services requested are assigned to this appointment. In the clinical system (i.s.h.med) the assignment of one or more services to an appointment or to a treatment room is described as “service planning”.

The allocation of appointments is normally the job of the performing service facility. The performing service facility can reserve the right to plan all services requested of it, or assume responsibility for the planning of only part of its range of services.

If the performing service facility does not execute service planning, or does not wish to schedule all services, requested services can also be planned by the requesting OU.

Prerequisites

You control whether and for which services the requesting OU may plan, by not setting the appointment allocation indicator for the performing OU in the following basic data:

  • Appointment allocation indicator of OU

  • Appointment allocation indicator of service in service range

  • Appointment allocation indicator in request type

    Note Note

You should note that the requesting OU may only schedule if all appointment allocation indicators contain no entry.

    End of the note.

Activities

  • When you confirm a request the system will check whether a service is contained in the request, which will not be planned by the performing OU. If this is the case, depending on the organizational unit-related parameter N1DISP, you access either the planning grid of the Maintain Appointment dialog box to plan the services.

    Note Note

You can plan services as long as they have not been performed. When planning, you can use planned visit appointments of the patient at the performing OU or plan new appointments.

    End of the note.
