Maintenance of Combo Box Proposal Values
Default values can be stored in the system for combo boxes (type C documentation elements).
You should note that combo box values refer to documentation elements (and not SAP data elements or domains). If you want to use the same default values in elements from different document categories, you must use the same documentation elements in each case.
From the SAP Easy Access
screen choose . This takes you to the list of combo box values, where you can create New Entries
or Change
, Delete
or Copy
existing values.
You can maintain these entries in the table itself or branch to the detail screen.
The language code for the entry
This is the documentation element for which the value is stored.
The sequence number is automatically allocated and forms the code for the entry together with the language indicator and the documentation element.
Entry should be offered in one institution: Enter institution
Entry should be offered in all institutions: Leave institution blank
Entry should be offered in several - but not all - institutions: Create an entry for each institution, with the same content and a different configuration
Entry should be offered in no institutions: Delete Entry
This is the value presented in the input help dialog box and, if necessary, stored in the document.
Note
You must ensure that the catalog entry matches the document table. The data element length must be at least as long as the longest catalog entry.
You can determine the order in which the values in input help are displayed. If nothing is specified, the values are sorted according the entry in the Catalog Entry
field. As this is a text field, numerical entries will lead to the following sort sequence: 1, 11, 12, 13, 2, 21, 22 etc. Entries without a Catalog Entry
have priority.
You can store a brief description for each catalog entry. This is used by the system management for comments.
