Function documentationInpatient Tab Page

On the Inpatient tab page you enter and manage information on the supply and posting of the drug and for the documentation of medication events.

Activities

The following group boxes are available for entering or editing the necessary information:

  • Unit Dose group box

In this group box you can determine whether the drug should be supplied by the pharmacy in package units and whether the entire package unit must be posted if only part of the package (entire ampoule) is consumed (e.g. half an ampoule). Note that if the Single Use Only or Issue as Package indicators are set the system will not check that a package size has been entered.

If you define here that a dose unit must supplied in undivided form, the system will not take into account the maximum denominator of a drug in the pick and fill lists.

Furthermore you can also determine the recommended time period for the generation of medication events within the framework of a medication order for this drug.

  • eMAR group box

In this group box you can determine whether a witness is necessary when the drug is issued (e.g. administered) and whether it is a time-critical drug (precise order times necessary).

If you select the Time-Critical Drug checkbox, you can define tolerance times for the difference to the planned time for drugs where the administration is time-critical.

    Note Note

If you define a tolerable time difference for the administration of a time-critical drug, and this tolerance time is exceeded in the documentation of an administration, the system checks whether a reason for the time difference is documented in the administration documentation.

If you do not enter a tolerated maximum time difference for the drug, the system calls the Business Add-In (BAdI) N1ME_READ_PARAM . See Customer-Specific Enhancements for Medication

    End of the note.

You can also determine conditions which must be checked before a drug can be administered.
