Determine Individual Times (Irregular Cycle)
For cycles which determine very different treatment results (e.g. administration of a drug), it is difficult to create a cycle using the mandatory determination of regular sequences. You can therefore determine alternative individual times for the treatment, within a cycle definition.
Example
For the first day you determine a cycle time of 10:00, on the second day 16:00, on the third day 8:00 and 16:00, etc.
The determination of individual times is integrated into cycle definition and is available in the following application areas:
Nursing – nursing service
Service Management – medical services
Clinical Order – cyclical service ordering
Medication – medication orders
Vital Signs
In the cycle definition, select the Irregular
radio button to enable the entry of individual times.
Enter the irregular cycle times with the day, time and quantity (which is proposed for all calculated times within a cycle definition).
Note
The system will use the quantity as a multiplier for the individual dose specified in the order.
You can determine validity restraints for this cycle definition (From Day
and To Day
) to restrict individual times to a precise predefined period of time. These validity restraints are also used within the medication order, i.e. to determine that event generation only takes into account all times up to the defined end time of the cycle.
Example
For the first day you determine cycle times at 10:00, 12:00, and 17:00. You can automatically complete this irregular treatment outcome within the day, for subsequent days, so that treatments also take place at 10:00, 12:00, and 17:00 on subsequent days.
In the Medication context, this completion only concerns the medication events and is automatically executed by the system as part of event generation as follows:
If the To Day
field is left blank, you can limit the completion of the medication events using the end time of the medication order.
If you enter a value in the To Day
field, you can limit the completion of the medication events using this end time.
Note
In this case the system will no longer automatically generate events if the order is extended.
