Assign/Detach Order Profile

You use this function to select orders and assign them to an order profile or undo existing assignments.

The Assign/Detach Order Profile function is available in the order dialog and in the Medication Orders view type in the clinical work station.

Activities

Select one or more orders and then choose (Assign/Detach Order Profile).

In the upper part of the screen the system displays the orders which are not yet assigned to an order profile.

Note Note

The upper part of the screen does not contain orders which have the status Ended or Canceled or orders which are already assigned to an order profile.

In the lower part of the screen the system displays the existing order profiles for the patient with the assigned medication orders. If no order profiles have yet been created for the patient, this screen area is empty.

Within the Assign/Detach Order Profile function you can use the following functions:

Create Order Template: You can create a new order profile.

Caution

You should note that the order profile number is only used to differentiate between the order profiles of a patient. The system also saves an external order profile number which you can use, for example to select and filter in the Drug Orders view type-

You can use the Business Add-In ISHMED_ME_EXPRESNR to override the number assignment.

Change Order Profile: You can change an existing order profile.
If you double-click on the order profile, you access the function and can change the description of the order profile.
Display Order Profile: You can display an existing order profile.
Create Assignment: You can select one or more orders and assign them to an order profile.
Alternatively you can assign an order to an order profile with Drag&Drop (not possible for several orders simultaneously).
Remove Assignment: You can select one or more orders and detach them from the assigned order profile.
Alternatively you can detach an order from an order profile with Drag&Drop (not possible for several orders simultaneously). For technical reasons this option is only available if orders exist which have not yet been assigned (i.e. the display table for orders which have not yet been assigned contains entries).

The system removes the order from the order profile and displays it in the upper part of the screen of the non-assigned orders.

Caution

You should note that you cannot detach or change the assignment of an order which has already been ended.

Create/Change Sequence Text: You can create a new sequence text or change an existing sequence text for an order which is assigned to an order profile. You double-click on the order in the display of the order profile.

The sequence text is only used to describe the order within an order profile or sequence. This description does not have formal consequences for the order within the sequence.
Change Sequence: You can change the sequence of the orders within an order profile (Drag&Drop). The sequence text is retained.

Recommendation

You can also use this function to assign an order of an order profile to another order profile, instead of the Remove Assignment and Create Assignment functions.
