Elemental Order Types

On the Other tab page, system administration can, for example, specify the following for elemental order types:

  • Case dependency

With this indicator, system administration decides whether order items, which were created based on this order type, should or must be case-dependent.

  • Movement category

The movement category of a clinical order indicates the type of order items that will result:

    • Admission item (inpatient admission)

    • Treatment item (outpatient movement)

      Note Note

Using the movement type, system administration controls whether the user can enter referral or transfer data in the clinical order.

      End of the note.

You can find more information in the Implementation Guide under Start of the navigation path Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Clinical Order Next navigation step Clinical Order Basic Data Next navigation step Set Up Order Types for Clinical Order End of the navigation path.

Profile Types

On the Other tab page, the system administration can define appointment dependencies for profile types for the planning of the order items.

The system presets these defined appointment dependencies when creating a clinical order with this profile type in the appointment template.

See Joint Planning (Multi-Appointment)

Caution Caution

Appointment dependencies for the planning of order items are only possible if the profile type consists only of elemental order types.

You cannot define dependencies for admission items. The system does not display the elemental order types for order items in the selection list.

End of the caution.

System administration hereby defines the time dependencies of appointments for treatment items.

Example Example

A general health check-up consists of an EKG examination, then a blood sample, and finally a urine sample. Elemental order types are created for all these examinations. You determine the blood sample should chronologically follow the EKG examination order type. The urine sample order type chronologically follows the blood sample order type.

Furthermore, you define the time interval (minimum and maximum interval) between the examinations.

End of the example.

When you save the profile type the system checks the defined appointment dependencies as follows:

  • An order type may only have one chronological predecessor and one successor assigned.

  • If the Unit field is filled, at least one of the Minimum Interval or Maximum Interval fields must also be filled.

IIf you remove an elemental order type, for which appointment dependency has already been defined in the profile type, from the Structuring tab page, the system will automatically also remove all appointment dependencies of this elemental order type.

Note Note

You define appointment dependencies for joint planning, which are valid for a special clinical order and not generally in use for a specific profile type, directly in the appointment template for the clinical order.

End of the note.
