Procedure

To create or change standard nursing plans, proceed as follows:

  1. In the implementation guide select the menu option Start of the navigation path Industry-Specific Component Clinical System Next navigation step Nursing Process Documentation Next navigation step Catalogs Next navigation step Manage Standard Nursing Plans End of the navigation path, to access the initial screen.

    The system displays all existing standard nursing plans and standard nursing plan profiles.

  2. If you wish to create a standard nursing plan, choose Create Standard Plan (Create Standard Plan).

    In the subsequent dialog box select the standard nursing plan type with the value "Standard Plan". Enter also the institution, the basic catalog set and an abbreviation for which you wish to create a standard nursing plan. Choose Continue (Continue).

    If you wish to change a standard nursing plan, select the desired standard nursing plan and choose Edit Standard Plan (Edit Standard Plan).

  3. The subsequent screen consists of two screen areas.

    The screen area on the left displays the hierarchy of the standard nursing plan. The following functions are available in this screen area:

    • Select a main item of the standard nursing plan and choose Create Property Property (Create Property). In the subsequent drop-down menu the system will display the property catalogs of which the basic catalog set used contains an assignment to the main catalog of the main item you selected. Select the desired property catalog in order to select the property catalog item which you wish to assign to your standard nursing plan with Continue (Continue) in the subsequent selection help.

      Note Note

      In the drop-down menu the system directly displays the items of the property catalog which you defined as assigned items in the main catalog of the main item you selected. You can use the “Other…” entry to branch to the selection help described above.

    • Select a main item of the standard nursing plan and choose Create Connection Connection (Create Connection). In the subsequent drop-down menu select the item which you wish to connect with the selected main item.

      The system will propose the following items for connections in the drop-down menu:

      • Items which already exist in the standard nursing plan as main items

      • Items which exist in the catalog assignment definition of the basic catalog of the main item you selected

    • Select an item of the standard nursing plan and, in the drop-down menu of the pushbutton select the icon with the quick info text Activate Preselection Presetting, in order to set the Preselection indicator.

      Select an item of the standard nursing plan and, in the drop-down menu of the pushbutton, select the icon with the quick info text Deactivate Preselection Presetting, in order to delete the Preselection indicator.

      Note Note

      If you set the Preselection indicator, the system will automatically select the item when you call the selection help for standard nursing plans in the nursing plan.

      The system will set the Preselection indicator for assigned items as standard.

    • Select a main item of the standard nursing plan of the "nursing procedure" basic catalog type and then choose Assign Cycle (Assign Cycle).

      In the subsequent dialog box select a standard cycle and then choose Select Cycle (Select Cycle), in order to assign this to your selected main item.

      Select a main item of the standard nursing plan of the "nursing procedure" basic catalog type and, in the drop-down menu of the pushbutton select Assign Cycle Detach Cycle (Assign Cycle Detach Cycle), to delete the cycle assignment.

    • Select an item of the standard nursing plan and select Delete Entry (Delete Entry), to delete the selected item of the standard nursing plan.

      Caution Caution

      If you select a main item of the standard nursing plan, the system deletes the selected main item with all subordinate items.

    • Select an item of the standard nursing plan and select Move Up (Move Up), to move the selected item up within the basic catalog set structure.

    • Select an item of the standard nursing plan and select Move Down (Move Down), to move the selected item down within the basic catalog set structure.

    • Double-click on an item of the standard nursing plan. The system opens the Item Details tab page in the right-hand screen area.

    The screen area on the right displays the header data of the standard nursing plan in the Header Data group frame when opened. You can enter or change individual header data here.

    At the bottom right of the screen the system displays the OU assignments. The following functions are available to you:

    • Select Create OU Assignment (Create OU Assignment), in order to assign an OU to your standard nursing plan using Select (Select) in the subsequent dialog box.

    • Select an OU assignment and then choose Delete OU Assignment (Delete OU Assignment), to delete an OU assignment to your standard nursing plan.

    Furthermore, the following functions are available in this screen area:

    • Select the Quick Item Entry tab page to quickly enter several main items. Enter the catalog and item abbreviations. Select one or more entered main items and then select Assign Item(s) (Assign Item(s)). The system uses the catalog and item abbreviations to recognize the items to be inserted and correctly inserts the selected main items into your standard nursing plan.

      Caution Caution

      Note that you can only enter the main items of a standard nursing plan using the quick entry. This means you can only combine items from main catalogs of the basic catalog set in use.

    • In the right-hand screen area the system displays all main catalogs of the basic catalog set in use as tab pages.

      Select the desired main catalog using the corresponding tab page. The system displays all items of the selected main catalog. Select an item and then Assign Item (Assign Item) to insert this item into your standard nursing plan as a main item.

    • If you double-click on an item of the standard nursing plan in the left-hand screen area, the system will open the Item Details tab page in the right-hand screen area.

      In the Item Data group frame the system displays the corresponding main item data.

      If you have selected a main item of the standard nursing plan of the ”nursing procedure” basic catalog type or a subordinate item assigned to this main item, the system will also open the Cycle group frame.

      • In this group frame select Assign Cycle (Assign Cycle). This function corresponds to the Assign Cycle (Assign Cycle) function on the left screen area. The system saves the cycle for the relevant main item.

      • In this group frame select Undo Cycle Assignment (Undo Cycle Assignment).

      In the lower section of the right-hand screen area you can use tab pages to toggle between the connections of the relevant main item and the property catalogs assigned to corresponding main item due the basic catalog set in use.

      • Choose the Connections tab page. The system displays all existing connections of the relevant main item.

        Choose Create Connection (Create Connection). This function corresponds to the Create Connection Connection (Create Connection) function on the left screen area.

        Select a connection and then choose Undo Connection (Undo Connection), to delete the connection to the corresponding main item.

      • Select the desired property catalog using the corresponding tab page. The system displays all items of the selected property catalogs which already exist in the standard nursing plan.

        Choose Create Property (Create Property). This function corresponds to the Create Property Property (Create Property) function on the left screen area.

        Select an item and then choose Delete Property (Delete Property), to delete the property for the corresponding main item.

    • Select the Header Data tab page to again access the header data of the standard nursing plan and the OU assignments.

    The following functions are also available to you in the toolbar:

    • Choose Check (Check) to execute checks in the background.

    • Choose Standard Nursing Plan Where-Used List (Standard Nursing Plan Where-Used List). In the subsequent dialog box select the areas of use for which you wish to display the where-used list. You then select Execute Where-Used List (Execute Where-Used List) to determine how often the standard nursing plan is used.

      Example Example

      The system determines, for example, how often the standard nursing plan is used in standard nursing plan profiles or in individual nursing plans.

    • Select Transport Standard Nursing Plan (Transport Standard Nursing Plan) to place the standard nursing plan in a transport request.

      Caution Caution

      You should note that the Standard Nursing Plan Where-Used List (Standard Nursing Plan Where-Used List) and Transport Standard Nursing Plan (Transport Standard Nursing Plan) functions are only available for data which has already been saved.
