Process a Nursing Service
The nursing service entry function supports the nursing process documentation and enables the execution certificate for nursing services which you have planned for a patient during nursing planning.
The processing of nursing services is always patient-related.
All functions for processing nursing services are available in the clinical work station in the Medication Events/Nursing Services
and Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility
view types.
In the Nursing Plan, the patient organizer and in the Outstanding Items Report
function in the clinical work station, selected functions for processing nursing services are available.
You can call the processing dialog for nursing services from the following applications:
Nursing Plan
Care unit (ward) or outpatient clinic work station
If you call the processing dialog from the care unit (ward) or outpatient clinic work station, the system evaluates the settings from the base item type and displays only the nursing services which are relevant to the user.
Example
For the Execute Morning Hygiene Routine
task, where a nurse wants to check at the end of his early shift which planned and, as yet unreleased nursing services exist for a patient, the processing dialog displays the corresponding nursing services, with a planned time within the early shift.
Clinical Work Station
You require the authorization object N_LERF_FCT
for activities with services.
The OU parameter N1PMN
must be set.
You can make user-specific settings for processing dialog for nursing services. For information on this, see Nursing Services Tab Page.
You must have created nursing services for the patient. For more information on this, see Create a Nursing Service.
The processing of nursing services comprises the following functions:
Performing and releasing planned services
Canceling nursing services
Documenting unplanned nursing services as performed or released (see Create a Nursing Note)
Changing or entering details on individual nursing services
The processing dialog for nursing services is implemented as a base item (see Nursing Service Base Item Type). It is divided into three parts:
Nursing Service Hit List
The nursing service hit list is a hierarchically built tree structure which contains the nursing procedures catalog or the range valid for the OU of the nursing plan. If you select a nursing service in the hit list, you open it for processing in the processing area.
Processing Area
In the processing area the system shows you the nursing services in a table. You can execute the functions for all nursing services or for selected services.
Detail Area
Further details on the nursing service are available in the detail area. The system displays the involved employees and the properties of a service each as separate tab pages.
You can process nursing services as follows:
