Transfer Nursing Plan to New Care Unit
If the system determines that the selected patient was transferred and the new care unit tries to open the nursing plan of the old care unit, it automatically executes this function under certain prerequisites.
Features
The header of the nursing plan stores the departmental and nursing organizational unit (OU) which is responsible for the nursing plan.

In the following the abbreviation OU describes the combination of the departmental and nursing OU.
When opening the nursing plan the system compares the OU of the current movement of the patient with the OU of the nursing plan.
If both OUs are identical the system opens the nursing plan in change mode.
If the two OUs are different, this means that the selected patient has been transferred to another OU since the last time the nursing plan was saved.
In this case the system must analyze the movement from the environment, i.e. the movement from the care unit work station or the clinical work station from where you called the nursing plan. The system then determines the OU of this environment movement. The following variants result:
If the OU of this environment movement matches the OU of the nursing plan, the old care unit is trying to edit the nursing plan after the patient's transfer. Note that the new care unit has not yet explicitly accepted the nursing plan. The system opens the nursing plan in change mode.
If the OU of this environment movement corresponds to the OU of the current movement, the new care unit is trying to edit the nursing plan. This is only permitted if the new care unit has explicitly accepted the nursing plan.
The system therefore displays a dialog box with a query.
If you confirm the query, the system transfers the nursing plan from the old care unit to the new care unit and opens it in change mode.
If you do not confirm the query, the system opens the nursing plan in change mode.
If the OU of this environment movement corresponds neither to the OU of the current movement nor to the OU from the nursing plan, a third care unit is trying to open the nursing plan. The system opens the nursing plan in display mode.
