You use the physician order to quickly enter physician orders for a patient in text form.

Prerequisites

Maintain the corresponding roles for the user with the authorization object N_1PORD.

Features

To create a physician order in the Physician Orders UIBB or in the Smart Chart UIBB you choose Create (Create). The Edit Physician Order dialog box provides the following functions:

Physician Order Text

When you enter the first letter the input support function will propose an existing physician order text, which you can manually revise if necessary.

Create Further Physician Orders

Choose this function is you wish to create further physician orders.

Save

If you wish to re-edit the physician order text at a later time, choose Save. The physician order has status Entered.

Release

To confirm a physician order, choose Release. Physician orders in Released status can be accepted, for example by the nursing staff.

Execute

To complete a released physician order, choose Execute.

Note Note

In the Edit Physician Order dialog box the fields EMR, Occupational Group, Executing Nurs. OU and Executing Dept. OU are preset as standard. You can change the preset values if necessary.

Furthermore, the Physician Orders UIBB provides the following one-click actions:

One-Click Action

Description

Change (Change)

If you wish to edit a physician order, you use this one-click action to call the Edit Physician Order dialog box.

Release (Release)

If you are the ordering EmR of the physician order, or are assigned to him, you can use this one-click action to directly release physician orders with Entered status.

Cancel (Cancel)

If you wish to cancel a physician order, you use this one-click action to call the cancellation dialog.
