Finding Objects in Other ApplicationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Purpose

You can start the find objects function either in the classification system, or from another application.

You can use this function to find classified objects in any situation.

If you start the find objects function from another application, you can copy an object from the search result to the application you started from, then process the object. You can only select one object for each search to copy to your application.

Example

In the standard system, object types vendor, material, and work center can be classified. If you need a specific work center in a routing, you can use the Find via class function to find classified work centers, and copy the work center to your routing.

Procedure
  1. Use the possible entries to choose the search function Find via classes.

  2. You are now in the find objects function.

  3. Enter a class.

  4. You have various options for finding an initial class for your search (for more information, see Finding Initial Classes ).

  5. Enter your search criteria in the value assignment screen area.

  6. In the search result, select the object you want to copy to your application.

  7. Choose Copy. This pushbutton is only active if the function was called from a matchcode.
