Using the periodic posting function for vacant rental objects, you can post imputed costs (or revenue) resulting from the conditions of the rental objects to vacancy cost centers.
You use this function if you want to analyze vacancies in the form of imputed costs.

Periodic Posting
Periodic posting is made for a company code or codes. You can simulate and reverse posting runs. A posting and error log displays current information about the posting status.
For more information, see Periodic Posting .
Cash Flow
If you defined conditions on the rental object, and the rental object is vacant, the system updates the cash flow based on the conditions defined for the case of vacancy (vacancy cash flow).
With every subsequent periodic posting for the vacancy, the system generates a cash flow and posts the receivables according to the conditions defined; the posted records are identified with the letter I as actual records.
Retroactive changes (such as the subsequent activation of a contract) could result in follow-up postings.
Cost Center
If the imputed cost is to be posted to a cost center in your organization, you have to assign the cost center to the rental object (on the Posting Data tab page). The posting can also be made across company codes, in other words the posting is made to a cost center belonging to another company code in the same controlling area .
If the rental object is not assigned to a cost center, you post the expense to the rental object itself.
Follow the procedure described in Periodic Posting .
