Extract HR Data to an LDAP-Enabled Directory Service Role

The role that enables a user in SAP ERP HCM to extract HR data to an LDAP-enabled directory service covers the following functions:

• Execute the data extraction

  With this user role, you can transfer data, which you want to use as relevant employee data centrally for user management and distribution to other systems (for example, SAP ERP systems) and base on a defined query, to a central identity management system using an LDAP-enabled directory service.

• Create background job and display log

  To automate data extraction, this user role can create a background job and is authorized to display the log information that is created by the system when executing the data extraction.

As of SAP Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0, the functions made available using this role have been integrated with SAP NetWeaver Identity Management. You should note that SAP NetWeaver Identity Management is not part of SAP ERP an must be in use as an additional component.
