 Career Planning for a Person, and Designating the Person for a Position: Example

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Human resources Next navigation step Personnel management Next navigation step Personnel development Next navigation step Planning Next navigation step Career. End of the navigation path

  2. The Career Planning screen appears.

  3. If necessary, change the object type.

  4. Enter the object name or the object ID of the person in the corresponding field.

  5. If necessary, change the key date for planning.

  6. Select the planning criterion Include designations , and at least one other criterion.

  7. If applicable, enter a career of your choice in the Additional career field.

  8. Choose Enter.

  9. Choose Start of the navigation path Planning Next navigation step Execute. End of the navigation path

  10. The Career Planning screen appears. In the top section of the screen, the system displays standard information on the person. In the career plan, the system displays objects that match each of the selection criteria specified.

  11. To display the ranking list for the objects, choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Ranking list End of the navigation path .

  12. The Career Planning screen appears. This ranking list is sorted by suitability range or suitability percentage. The planning criteria that the objects meet are displayed in the right-hand section of the screen.

    To toggle between the suitability ranges and the suitability percentage, choose Start of the navigation path View Next navigation step Suitability % on. End of the navigation path

  13. Position the cursor on the position for which you want to designate the person.

  14. Choose Start of the navigation path Planning Next navigation step Create Next navigation step Designation. End of the navigation path

  15. The designation is now created.

    The Profile Matchup screen appears. If there are any training proposals, these are displayed.

  16. To update the career plan, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Refresh. End of the navigation path

  17. The system displays the new designation in the career plan.

  18. You can save the career plan to file and/or print it out.

  • To save to file, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Save to PC file... End of the navigation path

  • To print out, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Print. End of the navigation path

Result

You have worked through the career planning scenario and designated the person for the position.
