Talent Management Specialist Locate this document in the navigation structure

Role Role: SAP_SR_TMC_TMS_6

 

This single role comprises the tasks that an employee in the HR department performs in Talent Management. You can use this single role for the following purposes:

  • As a template to define the authorizations for the talent management specialists in your enterprise

  • As a template to define the authorizations for the talent management superusers in your enterprise

  • As a template to use the role of talent management specialist in SAP NetWeaver Business Client

The talent management specialist has an area of responsibility that is specified by relationship 741. This relationship is used to assign organizational units to the talent management specialist for which he or she is responsible. He or she has authorizations for only those objects within his or her area of responsibility.

We recommend that you restrict the authorization for assigning an area of responsibility to a talent management specialist to the talent management superuser role.

Configuration

In the standard SAP system, the role has the following authorizations:

Organizational Basics of Talent Management

The talent management specialist edits the organizational basics of Talent Management; particularly the following object types:

  • Functional areas (FN)

  • Job families (JF)

  • Jobs (C)

  • Positions (S)

  • Organizational units (O)

  • Qualifications (Q)

  • Qualification groups (QK)

  • Central persons (talents) (CP)

  • Talent groups (TB)

For these object types, the talent management specialist can perform the following actions:

  • Create functional areas and job families

  • Edit the following relationships:

    • Job architecture:

      • Functional area comprises job families (relationship 450)

      • Job family comprises job(s) (relationship 450)

      • Job describes position(s) (relationship 007)

    • Display qualifications for a person (relationship 032)

    • Assign qualifications as competencies to functional areas, job families, jobs, and positions (relationship 031)

    • Assign successors to positions (relationship 740)

    • Assign employees to talent groups (relationship 743)

    • Classify employees as potentially suitable to staff the jobs of a job family (relationship 744)

  • Display relationships, vacancies, and the status Obsolete

  • Edit other data such as descriptions (infotype 1002) or the address of a position or organizational unit (infotype 1028)

  • Create job evaluation results for jobs and positions (infotype 1050)

  • Display indirect reporting structure between positions

Talent Management Specialist

For the authorization object PLOG, enter the proficiency * for all fields that do not have a specific entry. Enter the active plan version for the field PLVAR.

Talent Management Superuser

For the authorization object PLOG, enter the proficiency * for all fields. Thus, the talent management superuser also receives the authorization for the relationship 741 and can assign an area of responsibility to the talent management specialist.

Talent Assessment

The talent management specialist has the following authorizations for assessing the performance and potential of talents:

  • He or she is allowed to edit forms, criteria groups, and criteria for the talent assessment

  • He or she is allowed to display and change appraisals

Other Functions in Talent Management
  • The talent management specialist is allowed to edit all Talent Management infotypes.

    For example, this means that he or she is allowed to display and change the talent profile of employees (infotypes 7402 - 7407), edit performance values and potential values of employees (infotypes 7408 and 7409), create, change, and conduct talent review meetings (infotypes 7431 - 7437), and edit talent groups (infotypes 7420 and 7430).

  • The talent management specialist has access to the POWER list (POWL) for talent review meetings.

    For the authorization object CA_POWL, enter the proficiency * for all fields that do not have a specific entry.

  • He or she is allowed to display the photos of talents.

    In the standard SAP system, for example, photos are displayed in a talent's short profile or when editing talent groups.

  • He or she has access to applications that call the HRTMC_SERVICES function group

    This function group comprises the Remote Function Calls (RFCs) for external applications that can be used for Succession Planning, for example.

Additional Functions
  • The talent management specialist is allowed to display and change the infotypes Personnel Actions (000), Organizational Assignment (0001), and Personal Data (0002).

  • He or she is allowed to execute all transactions in the ERP system.

  • He or she is allowed to display all business partners. For the authorization object B_BUPA_RLT, enter the proficiency * for all fields that do not have a specific entry.

  • Restrict the authorizations for the authorization object P_PERNR to suit your requirements.
