Executing a String Search

If you want to use a character string to search in the Classification System (for example, all values that start with DA), you must change the comparison type first.

The standard settings do not allow a string search.

You can only use a string search for character characteristics.

1. Select the value entry field for the characteristic for which you want to execute a string search.

2. Choose Comp. Type.

You see a dialog box.

3. In the dialog box, select Inclusive and Find String.

Confirm your entries.

4. In the T column after the characteristic value, you see a 2.

For this characteristic, you can enter a character or character string with an * asterisk (for example, DA*) as a search criterion.
