Side Panel Definitions for SAP UtilitiesLocate this document in the navigation structure

SAP_BSSP_ISU_SIDEPANEL

Use

This technical role contains the side panel definitions for SAP GUI transactions from the area of SAP Utilities (IS-U).

During the project implementation, you must assign the authorizations for the following authorization objects:

  • BSSP_NOTE (Notes and Attachments)

  • BSSP_STW (Collaboration)

  • S_WDR_P13N (Administrator Personalization in Web Dynpro ABAP Components)

This authorization object is relevant for the personalization and customizing of side panel CHIPs.

In Role Maintenance (transaction PFCG), you can find the transaction codes for which side panels are provided:

  1. Start transaction PFCG, specify role SAP_BSSP_ISU_SIDEPANEL and choose Display.

  2. Navigate to the Menu tab. You can view the transactions which have side panels by expanding the hierarchy tree and navigating to the folders at the lowest level.

  3. Choose a folder and double-click. The group box Other Node Details should be visible. In the field Application Alias, you can view the assigned transactions in the format {TR=transaction1;transaction2; …}.

Background

In SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC), you can use a side panel to display additional context-sensitive information about the main transactions in SAP Utilities (IS-U). This side panel is a separate screen area next to the main application. You can open it with an arrow on the edge of the screen.

You can configure the side panel according to your specific needs and enhance it as required. The additional information in the side panel is displayed as individual Collaborative Human Interface Parts (CHIPs), and you can decide yourself which CHIPs are displayed and which are hidden. You can also determine for which SAP GUI transactions a side panel is available.

A number of CHIPs especially developed for IS-U are provided for your use in a CHIP catalog, in addition to a range of generic CHIPs.

For more information about side panels in the Business Suite, such as prerequisites and restrictions, see Side Panel for Business Suite.

The following side panels are available for selected Utilities transactions:

  • Notes / Attachments

CHIP Address Visualization

To enable the map visualization the relevant visible fields have been tagged. It may happen that in some data constellations these fields do not allow precise address localization.

CHIP Consumption

This CHIP shoes the billed consumption of the contract/installation as chart. You may influence the number of billed periods in the chart by making the corresponding settings in Customizing at Start of the navigation path SAP Utilities Next navigation step Customer Service Next navigation step CRM Integration Next navigation step BAdIs for Accessing Objects Next navigation step Premise Overview: BAdI for Consumption Table and Graph End of the navigation path.

Constraints

As you know you do not leave the transaction when navigating to another object by double-click. Therefore the side panels and their CHIPs do not change as they are linked to the transaction. The content of the CHIPs may possibly change as it is taken from the current screen. If there is no new content on the current screen the CHIP will show the object corresponding to the screen you came from.
