  Element Access Tab Page

Use

This tab page enables you to restrict the access participants have to elements in the appraisal document according to status.

Restrictions of this type are particularly beneficial if an appraisee is not to be permitted access to a performance appraisal or performance comparison during certain phases of the appraisal process.

The default setting in the standard SAP system enables all participants to access all elements. You should only change the settings if restrictions are required.

Structure

The structure of the tab page differs depending on whether part appraisers are to be included in the appraisal process. If no part appraisers are to be included in the appraisal process, only the Element Access group box is displayed. The settings in this group box control the access to elements for processing the main document.

If, however, you have selected the relevant columns to specify that part appraisers are to be included in the appraisal process, the tab page also includes the Element Access for Part Appraisers group box. In this group box, you define the access authorizations for part appraisers when they process the part appraisal document.

Note

The element access settings must be consistent for criteria groups and the dependent criteria. For example, if the appraisee is not to be able to see a particular element in the criteria group and this element is therefore hidden, the elements under the criteria group must also be hidden for the appraisee.

The system automatically checks the settings for consistency. If the check identifies any inconsistencies, the system displays a pushbutton on the tab page that enables you to correct them.
