Function documentationDisplay of Employee Assessments in the Talent Profile Overview

The Overview tab of the talent profile for managers and talent management specialists displays an overview of the assessments available for an employee in the appraisal period. In Customizing, you define which categories of assessments the overview contains (see the Prerequisites section). The way in which you assess employees in your enterprise determines which value or values each category displays. You can use the following applications:

  • Talent assessment with predefined Performance Management process and talent assessment document

  • Employee assessment with flexible appraisal processes

For more information, see Assessment of Employees and Calibration Process for Employee Assessments.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development, under Start of the navigation path Talent Profile Next navigation step Overview End of the navigation path, you have defined which categories are to be included on the Overview tab and how they are to be displayed (for example, in which sequence).

Features

In the standard SAP system, the Overview tab displays the following values:

Performance and Potential

For more information, see Performance Values and Potential Values in the Talent Profile.

Other Categories
  • Talent Assessment

    • If you use the talent assessment, the system displays the value from the appraisal document of the current appraisal period.

    • If multiple assessments exist for the same employee in an appraisal period, the system calculates the arithmetic average of the values and displays this mean value.

    • If you want to calculate the mean value differently to the default calculation, you need to create an implementation of the Business Add-In (BAdI) Calculation of Mean Value for Appraisal Elements (HRTMC_ASSESSMENT_AVERAGE). For the BAdI, see Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development, and choose Basic Settings.

    Note Note

There are multiple assessments for an appraisal period in the following instances:

    • The employee is in concurrent employment and therefore has more than one superior.

    • The employee changed position within the appraisal period.

    End of the note.
  • Employee Assessment

    • If you use flexible appraisal processes for the employee assessment, in Customizing you can define from which appraisal templates and appraisal elements (meaning which appraisal criteria or criteria groups) in these templates the system is to retrieve the displayed values.

For more information, see Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development under Start of the navigation path Assessment of Employees Next navigation step Employee Assessment with Flexible Appraisal Processes Next navigation step Define Data Retrieval for Flexible Appraisal Processes End of the navigation path.

    • If there is more than one assessment for an employee for an appraisal period, the system displays all available values.

  • Competencies

    • For the Competencies category, the Overview tab in the standard SAP system displays the competency assessments that the manager has stored in the appraisal document.

    • If you want to display the competency assessments that are stored in the employee's qualifications profile instead, you need to set the parameter READ_COMPS_FROM_SKILLPROFILE to X in Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development, by choosing Start of the navigation path Assessment of Employees Next navigation step Talent Assessment Next navigation step Make Further Settings for Talent Assessment End of the navigation path.

This applies regardless of whether you use the talent assessment or flexible appraisal processes to assess employees.
