Servers for Map ServicesLocate this document in the navigation structure

A Server must be configured to enable you to connect to basemaps, different types of external services which will be used as reference layers, and icon symbols. Any available Server for example, ArcGIS Online or Bing, can be configured. Certain Servers like Bing, require authentication to connect to their map services.

Adding New Servers

To add a new Server, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the Display->Change icon to start the edit mode.

  2. Click on New Entries and add information to all the fields:

    • Map Server ID: Alphanumeric ID of the map Server you’d like to use.

      Note

This field can contain a maximum of 10 characters.

    • Service Scheme: May be either http or https.

    • Serv. Port: Port number for your Server.

    • Map Service Server: Information available from the map service provider, for example, ArcGIS Online to access Esri services if you have permission.

Note
