Making Object Type-Specific SettingsLocate this document in the navigation structure

You can define the package sizes used by the file loader for each object type corresponding to a connector. These settings overwrite the system-wide standard settings.

Context

The package size defines the number of objects that are processed in an indexing substep. Once a package has been processed, the next package is processed.
Note In KPRO/content server scenarios, the package size depends on the validity period of the URLs. The longer the validity period of the URLs, the larger the package size should be.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver system and launch the Implementation Guide (IMG) by using transaction SPRO. Navigate to the node Start of the navigation path Search and Operational Analytics Next navigation step Embedded Search Next navigation step File Loader Configuration Next navigation step Configure Object Type-Specific Settings for File Loader End of the navigation path.
  2. In the dialog structure, select the Package Size entry.
  3. In the Package Size table, select the row containing the required object type.
  4. Specify the package sizes for the initial indexing and the delta indexing.
The package size describes the number of files that can be processed before a timeout of the content server leads to invalid URLs.
  5. Switch back to the dialog structure and select the Settings for File Loader entry. Instead of the Package Size table, the screen now shows the settings for the previously selected object type/connector. Here, you can enter your own values for the selected object type/connector that differ from the system-wide settings.
  6. Save your changes.
