Copying Standards Data 
Use
This section describes how to copy standards data to the SAP system. It is theoretically possible to copy standards data from data carriers of any standards organization. However, the standards organization must first provide information on the structure of the data. The standards data can then be copied from a PC or workstation.
Currently, the only standards data that can be copied to the SAP system is from DIN (German Standards Institute).
Copying the standard and creating a standards class with the characteristics that are taken from the table of characteristics in the standard ( Copying DIN Standards )
Copying the characteristic data records that contain the allowed values for the characteristics of the materials you want to create from the standard ( Copying Characteristic Data Records )
Creating a material and classifying this material using the standards data, or classifying an existing material using the standards data ( Creating a Material from a Standard and Classifying a Material with Standards Data )
