 Notice of Assessment

Definition

Using this object, you can enter notices of assessmentin the system.

In order to determine and set taxes, such as property tax and inheritance tax, the tax office uses the assessed value of the land, rather than the market value. The tax office calculates the assessed valuefor tax purposes. This calculation is defined by the regulations set out in German valuation law.

The tax authorities set new assessment rates for all properties from time to time. This is called principal assessment.

If the tax office updates the assessed value and also sets a new assessment rate (per §7 of the property tax law) at the same time, that is called reassessment.

Use

The land register pagedoes not contain any information regarding the assessed value. Therefore, the assignment to real estate register numbers is recorded in the notice of assessment. At least one owner belonging to the assigned real estate register numbers is adopted as a default value in the assessed value. You record owners on the assessed value, for example because they might differ from the owner of the land recorded in the land register if the land is sold.

You can enter assessed values even if you have not created a land register in the system.
