Starting the InfoSet QueryLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can start the InfoSet query from role menus, from the Standard Easy Access Menu, or from the component Start of the navigation path SAP Query Next navigation step Queries End of the navigation path.

Procedure

Start from Role Menu/Standard Easy Access Menu

Prerequisites

  • You are working with a role menu or the Standard Easy Access Menu.

  • You have already decided in which context you want to start the InfoSet query (this is necessary because the InfoSet query can be used in the role menus as well as in the standard menu in several info systems).

Procedure

Start the InfoSet Query from the Easy Access menu with a double-click.

Result

  • If the menu entry (with which you call up the InfoSet query) is reserved with a specific context, start the InfoSet query with and InfoSet and, if necessary, a query. This means that you can begin directly with creating or editing a query.

  • If the menu entry is not reserved with a specific context, a dialog box is opened in which you have to choose the query area, a user group, and an InfoSet. After this selection, the InfoSet query screen is displayed in which the InfoSet with no specified selections is displayed.

    Note

The calling up of an InfoSet query was implemented in Human Resources (HR), so that the parameters Query Area and User Group are preassigned when starting the InfoSet query, and only ad-hoc reporting can be executed.

This means that the user either arrives immediately with the assigned InfoSet at the initial screen for the InfoSet query, or that the user can choose between several assigned InfoSets. In this context, the InfoSet query is known in this type of call-up as an Ad Hoc Query.

Starting from the SAP Query

Prerequisites

You are assigned to a minimum of one user group, to which, in turn, a minimum of one InfoSet is assigned.

Procedure

  1. Start the component SAP Start of the navigation path Query Next navigation step Queries End of the navigation path.

This brings you to the initial screen for the component Queries.

  2. Choose the standard or global query view under Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Query End of the navigation path.

The description of the query area is explained under Query Areas.

    More information: Reporting Type.

  3. To start an InfoSet query with a query, select a query.

  4. Click on the button InfoSet Query.

The InfoSet query is called up according to the following preconditions:

    • If the context is already specified, the InfoSet query is started with the respective InfoSet.

    • If the context has not yet been specified, a dialog box is called in which you select an InfoSet and a user group.

    • If you have selected a query, this is used as a template.

      Note

If you call up the InfoSet query with an already existing query, no lock is set for this query. This query is also available during the editing of other users.
