Function documentationEH&S Open Content Connector Dialog Box

The EH&S Open Content Connector dialog box allows you to compare the data from a content provider with the data that you already have in your specification database.

You can import the data, postpone the decision to import until a later date, or reject the import of the data offered.

You can control for the data import whether the Active and Relevant indicators are selected on the Usage tab page.

Integration

When you open the EH&S Open Content Connector, you can do the following:

Features

The EH&S Open Content Connector dialog box is divided into up to three screen areas according to your settings:

  • Substance information

This area is always displayed. All the data offered by the content provider is displayed for each specification in a tree structure.

    Note Note

The selection you make in the Substances and Settings dialog boxes determine which data is displayed.

In the Settings dialog box, deselect the Load Changes Only checkbox to display the data records that have already been created for the substance but that can be loaded again.

    End of the note.

In the substance information area, you can also see the following subareas:

    • In the No Match subarea, those data records created for the substance that do not contain content provider data are displayed.

    • In the No Change subarea, those data records created for the substance that do not differ from the content provider data are displayed. This is data that was already loaded for the OCC but has not changed since, for example.

    • In the No Data subarea, those data records created for the substance that are from the content provider but that cannot now be assigned content provider data are displayed.

  • Instance information

You can display this screen area to the right of the substance information area by choosing the data display under Start of the navigation path Options Next navigation step Detailed Data End of the navigation path in the menu. The content provider data and the data that already exists in the database is then displayed for the selected instance.

  • Error messages

In the menu under Start of the navigation path Options Next navigation step Error Information End of the navigation path, you can show or hide this screen area at the bottom edge of the dialog box.

Activities

You can change the settings in the Substance Information screen area. If you change a higher-level node, all lower-level nodes are also changed.

Select the required instance and make your selection using the pushbuttons described below:

  • Choose the Load Data (Load Data) pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is imported.

    Note Note

You can also choose the following options for the data selected for import:

    • By choosing the Relevant flag (Relevant flag) pushbutton, you specify that the Relevant indicator is to be assigned to the imported instance in the specification database.

    • By choosing the Active flag (Active flag) pushbutton, you specify that the Active indicator is to be assigned to the imported instance in the specification database.

    End of the note.
  • Choose the Undecided pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is not to be imported initially. The information is offered again for the next EH&S OCC run.

  • Choose the No Load (No Load) pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is not to be imported.

  • By choosing Start of the navigation path Options Next navigation step Preferences End of the navigation path in the menu, you navigate to the General Preferences dialog box.

  • In the menu under Start of the navigation path Options Next navigation step Import Mapping End of the navigation path, you can import a mapping supplied by the content provider.

Recommendation Recommendation

When loading dangerous goods data with the EH&S Open Content Connector, note that only one dangerous goods variant per legal regulation can be loaded for each substance.

If there is more than one dangerous goods variant for a legal regulation for a substance, all dangerous goods variants are first flagged with a question mark. Configure the following settings to ensure the data can be loaded: First select the required dangerous goods variant by choosing the Load Data (Load Data) pushbutton. All other dangerous goods variants are then deselected automatically. This means you obtain system support to load just one dangerous goods variant.

End of the recommendation.
