The EH&S Open Content Connector
dialog box allows you to compare the data from a content provider with the data that you already have in your specification database.
You can import the data, postpone the decision to import until a later date, or reject the import of the data offered.
You can control for the data import whether the Active
and Relevant
indicators are selected on the Usage
tab page.
When you open the EH&S Open Content Connector, you can do the following:
Update the selection of your specifications in the Substances dialog box.
Stipulate the selection of data to be imported in the Settings dialog box.
The EH&S Open Content Connector
dialog box is divided into up to three screen areas according to your settings:
Substance information
This area is always displayed. All the data offered by the content provider is displayed for each specification in a tree structure.
Note
The selection you make in the Substances
and Settings
dialog boxes determine which data is displayed.
In the Settings
dialog box, deselect the Load Changes Only
checkbox to display the data records that have already been created for the substance but that can be loaded again.
In the substance information area, you can also see the following subareas:
In the No Match
subarea, those data records created for the substance that do not contain content provider data are displayed.
In the No Change
subarea, those data records created for the substance that do not differ from the content provider data are displayed. This is data that was already loaded for the OCC but has not changed since, for example.
In the No Data
subarea, those data records created for the substance that are from the content provider but that cannot now be assigned content provider data are displayed.
Instance information
You can display this screen area to the right of the substance information area by choosing the data display under
in the menu. The content provider data and the data that already exists in the database is then displayed for the selected instance.Error messages
In the menu under
, you can show or hide this screen area at the bottom edge of the dialog box.You can change the settings in the Substance Information
screen area. If you change a higher-level node, all lower-level nodes are also changed.
Select the required instance and make your selection using the pushbuttons described below:
Choose the (Load Data
) pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is imported.

You can also choose the following options for the data selected for import:
By choosing the (Relevant flag
) pushbutton, you specify that the Relevant
indicator is to be assigned to the imported instance in the specification database.
By choosing the (Active flag
) pushbutton, you specify that the Active
indicator is to be assigned to the imported instance in the specification database.
Choose the Undecided
pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is not to be imported initially. The information is offered again for the next EH&S OCC
run.
Choose the (No Load
) pushbutton to specify that the data for the instance is not to be imported.

When loading dangerous goods data with the EH&S Open Content Connector
, note that only one dangerous goods variant per legal regulation can be loaded for each substance.
If there is more than one dangerous goods variant for a legal regulation for a substance, all dangerous goods variants are first flagged with a question mark. Configure the following settings to ensure the data can be loaded: First select the required dangerous goods variant by choosing the (Load Data
) pushbutton. All other dangerous goods variants are then deselected automatically. This means you obtain system support to load just one dangerous goods variant.
