You define payment plan items for an insurance object-partner relationship and control the formation of open items.

Procedure

When creating and changing payment plan items, enter the following data:

When you call up the insurance object-partner relationship, ensure that the display of payment plan items is not deactivated or restricted on the initial screen for the function.

Meaning

Payment Plan Item Category

Indicates

Item Identification

Sequence number for payment plan item

One-Time Payment checkbox

Overrides the control information for the payment plan data, and ensures that the amount for the payment plan item is not distributed, but is posted in one go.

Post Stat. (UL) checkbox

If you select this checkbox, the system generates statistical open items for a debit entry from payment plan items with the category Without Posting in Collections/Disbursements (document category 21), which can be processed further by the payment program.

Business Case Number

Groups source and target objects for subledger and G/L transfer posting

Validity Period

Dates from and up to which the payment plan item is valid. Basis for determining the due dates, amounts, and deferral - when applicable- according to the regional company calendar for the policyholder.

Risk Period

In the case of deferred revenue posting, an alternative risk period to the insurance period.

Payment Corridor

Upper and lower limit for customer-initiated payments in percent

Currency

Transaction currency for payment plan item

Amount (Total Amount or Installment)

Amount for validity period of the payment plan item

You enter either the total amount or an installment. The total amount corresponds to the total of the installments for the payment plan item validity period.

Specifications for Changing Amounts

Change date and time for an amount change during the validity of a payment plan item, as well as the specification of a new total amount or installment

Date and Time for Early Ending

Date and time at which a payment plan item is ended, before the expiration of its validity period (due to the end of the contract, for example)

If you want to end a payment plan item early, you must specify the ending type for a payment plan item (and the difference amount or required amount), in addition to the time information.

Ending Type

Determines how the system is to process additional postings (compare below) for the early ending of a payment plan item.

If you do not choose an ending type (Value = SPACE), the required amount corresponds to the total that must be posted to the PPI.

If you choose ending type D , then enter the difference to be posted on the ending date instead of the required amount.

Required Amount

Total amount that must be posted up to the end of validity for the payment plan item

Difference

(Difference) amount that is posted in addition to the payments due up to that point when ending a payment plan item early

If you choose ending type D, you need to specify the difference, which can also be zero.

Required Charge

Charge that is due at the time of early ending for a payment plan item

Renew Automatically checkbox

Causes the payment plan item to be renewed automatically after the validity period has expired

Number of Renewals

If you have selected the Renew Automatically checkbox, specify how often a payment plan item should be renewed automatically.

On the PPI Document I tab, enter the enter the following data in addition to the document type, cost center, profit center, and order:

Ledger Group

You can specify the ledger group only for payment plan items in category 20 if the ledger group is active in the business partner item of the document. The system transfers the ledger group of the payment plan item to the corresponding field of the business partner item and the general ledger item of the document that results. You cannot summarize payment plan items that have different ledger groups.

Posting Date, Document Date

The system requires the fields primarily for one-time payments.

Specifications for Due Dates and Value Dates

Due date up to which an open item is deferred, beyond the actual due date, with or without discount, discount rate, and date.

Payment and Dunning Data

Locks, interest key, payment method, and specifications for grouping open items

You can also add the Classification Key field, which is not available in the standard software, to a document. To do so, execute the following Customizing activities in Customizing for Collections/Disbursements under Start of the navigation path Program Enhancements Next navigation step Prepared Enhancements End of the navigation path: Classification Key and Activate Classification Key and Broker Field for Payment Plan Items.

After you have executed of the appropriate Customizing activities, the system also displays the field on the PPI Document I tab for the insurance object.

PPI Document II Tab

Enter the following data on the PPI Document II tab:

Data for Alternative Payment Partners

Here you define the ID, address, and specifications for the payment method, if you want to process payment transactions for a PPI with another business partner.

Tax Data

The is where you store tax-relevant data such as the sales tax case, withholding tax code, tax code for other tax, and externally calculated taxes.

FS-CD Fields

These fields are relevant for processes specific to Collections/Disbursements. These include, for example, the product group, coinsurance-relevant data, alternative IOs, alternative collecting brokers, and partners (see below)

Alternative Insurance Object and Associated Business Partner

Used as reference for claims and broker commission contracts

Enhanced Insurance Object and Associated BP

Used in subledger transfer posting, together with the PPI category, target contract, and partner

Specifications for Funds Management

Required for Integration with Funds Management

Planning Group and Additional Financial Planning Days

You use the planning group to classify expected revenue and expenditures for the update in Cash Management.

The system takes the additional days for financial planning into account when calculating the due date for an open item.

Claim Payment

Reference document number for direct clearing

Grouping Key for Open Items

The line items that belong to the same document or to documents with the same reference number, and in which the same grouping key is entered, can be displayed collectively as one item when processing open items.

Note Note

You can also add the Broker field, which is not available in the standard software, to a business partner item. To do so, execute the following Customizing activities in Customizing for Collections/Disbursements under Program Enhancements -> Prepared Enhancements: Include Broker Field in Business Partner Item and Activate Classification Key and Broker Field for Payment Plan Items.

After you have executed of the appropriate Customizing activities, the system also displays the field on the PPI Document II tab for the insurance object.
