SAP Document Builder supports you with the following:

  • Automating and streamlining the document creation process

  • Enforcing best practices in your business

  • Using rules to include or exclude clauses based on legal regulations

  • Verifying regulation sets to build documents that reflect your company-specific styles and formats

  • Generating documents automatically or manually

More specifically, SAP Document Builder 7.31 has the following features:

  • Integration with Microsoft Word 2007 DOCX format

  • Enhanced UI that combines the Fill-Ins tab with the Full-Text tab on the Document Summary tab

  • Configurable variable visibility on the Dialog and Document Summary tabs

Components

To run SAP Document Builder, you have installed the following:

  • SAP Business Suite Foundation 7.31

  • SAP NetWeaver Application Server

  • Adobe LiveCycle

    This component is an option in SAP GUI and is used to design Adobe PDF forms.

  • Assembly server

    This component is not required if you opted for DOCX, WordML, or a simple XML output. An assembly server that generates a PDF file supports XSL-FO transformation.

  • SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure

    This component is not required if you opted for a service-enabled environment.

Scenarios

SAP Document Builder is available on the SAP Business Foundation. SAP Procurement for Public Sector (SAP PPS) includes integration with SAP Document Builder. Additionally, you can configure SAP Document Builder as a standalone or you can integrate it with another solution.

You can do the following:

  • Access SAP Document Builder from a Web browser

  • Store documents as XML strings

    You can configure generated documents in such a way that they are sent back to the calling application or stored in a records management system.

  • Create elements using Document Builder Cockpit (/IPRO/WD_COCKPIT)
