Comparing ObjectsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can use an object comparison to juxtapose two objects and compare their classification data.

You can enter a date for the comparison.

If you have classified objects using change numbers with parameter effectivity, you can set the Parameter effectivity indicator. You see a dialog box where you enter the parameters used to define effectivity. The system determines the status of the classification that is effective for these parameters.

Procedure
  1. From the classification menu, choose Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Reporting Next navigation step Object comparison. End of the navigation path

  2. You see a dialog box in which you select an object type, such as material or equipment.

  3. Enter the objects you want to compare.

  4. If you only want to compare the classification data for a specific class, enter the class you require.

  5. Choose Execute .

  6. If you entered a class type but not a specific class, you see a list of classes in which object 1 and object 2 are classified.

  7. Select the classes in which you want to compare the classification data of the two objects.

  8. Choose Object comparison .

You see a two-column list, with the characteristic values assigned to the two objects side by side for comparison.

Note

If organizational areas are maintained, you only see the characteristics for the organizational area for which you are authorized.
