This procedure describes how you copy the data of a source specification to one or more target specifications. You have the following options:
You can select one or more target specifications in the hit list and copy the data of a source specification to the selected target specifications.
You can copy the data of a source specification from the header data of a target specification.
In a similar manner to inheritance , you use an inheritance template to specify which data (identifiers and value assignments) is to be copied. In contrast to inheritance, there is no further connection between the source and target specifications after copying. This means the copied data is not changed in the target specification if the corresponding data is changed in the source specification.
When copying, you can also specify whether the assignments of materials and reference specifications to the source specification are also copied to the target specification. You can only make this setting if the specification type of the target specification allows the material assignment or referencing. This means for example, if in Customizing for
Basic Data and Tools
a setting has been made for the specification type that material assignment is not permitted, the
Materials
field is then inactive.
You have created the required inheritance template .
Search for the target specifications to which you want to copy the data of a source specification by executing one of the following procedures:
A set of specifications appears in the form of a hit list if the SAP system finds data records matching the search criteria of the manual search or query, or if the set of hits loaded contains specifications that exist in the system.
Note
If the specifications you are searching for are not contained in the hit list or if the search result contains too many hits, you can fine-tune the hit list (see also Basic Functions in the Hit List ).
Select the target specifications to which you want to copy the data of a source specification.
Choose
. The
Edit Specification: Copy Template
dialog box appears.
Note
When specifications are copied, their inheritance relationships are not copied with them.
Enter the required data and confirm your entries.
Save your entries.
Follow the procedure
Creating Specifications
or
Editing Specifications
and choose the
Specification Header
tab page.
Choose
with the quick info text
Copy Template
.
The
Create Specification: Copy Template
dialog box or
Edit Specification: Copy Template
dialog box appears.
Enter the required data and confirm your entries.
Save your entries.
Note
When transferring the data to the target specification, the system uses the following logic:
For each new value assignment instance to be created, authorization is checked with regard to the authorization object C_SHES_TVH with activity 02 (Change). The fields
Rating
and
Validity Area
are not checked. If the check is successful, the instance is created for the target specification. Then the transfer of the related usages starts.
For each usage item <Rating>/<Validity Area>, authorization is checked with regard to the authorization object C_SHES_TDU with activity 02.Inactive ratings and excluded validity areas are also taken into account. If the check is successful, the relevant item is created for the target specification.
The procedure is the same for the identifiers.
Note: If you have set the environment parameter SP_AUTH_CHECKS_WITH_SUBCAT to 'X', the authorization objects C_SHES_TV2 and C_SHES_TD2 are used for the check.
