Making System-Wide SettingsLocate this document in the navigation structure

In the Implementation Guide you can define the system-wide behavior of the file loader by using parameters. The settings you make apply to all connectors that the file loader will process.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver system and launch the Implementation Guide (IMG) by using transaction SPRO. Navigate to the node Start of the navigation path Search and Operational Analytics Next navigation step Embedded Search Next navigation step File Loader Configuration Next navigation step Configure Standard Settings for File Loader End of the navigation path.
  2. Check or change the values for the following parameters, which apply to all connectors of your Embedded Search system:
    Parameter Description
Timeout Pack.Proc. Specifies the time in minutes after which the processing of a file package is canceled. We recommend determining this time at the start of the implementation project. It depends on the size of the files, the network speed to the external file server, and the validity period of the file URLs.
Schedule Frequency Specifies the schedule frequency in minutes. Once this time has elapsed, another planned scheduling is started. The default value of 3 minutes should not be changed.
Success Threshold Specifies the percentage of files that have to be processed successfully for the indexing of a connector to be rated as successful. If the value is 0%, all errors are accepted by the system. If your content server fails you get an error message. If 2% of your files have been processed successfully, the connector is given the status Searchable. Start with 0% to check your system and the quality of the files. If you set the value to 100%, all files must be indexed successfully for the connector to get the status Searchable.
No. of XS Schedules The number of parallel schedules that can be started by SAP HANA XS. Parallel processing can increase the throughput of file processing. You can use the CPU kernels used by SAP HANA as a guideline. You can enter a schedule for each kernel.
  3. Save your settings.
