Assigning Objects of Usage and Architectural Views to Each Other

Use

You can assign existing usage objects to existing architectural objects or the other way around. This assignment can be either partial or complete. You can partially or completely adopt the measurements of the assigned object. You can automatically or manually update the measurements on the usage object.

You can make this assignment from either the usage view or the architectural view. However, the system always copies the measurements from the architectural object to the usage object.

Prerequisites

There are some rules to keep in mind when you make these assignments. For more information, refer to Assignments Between Usage and Architectural Views This documentation also contains information on the different options for accessing the assignment tools.

Procedure

On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose:

AccountingFlexible Real Estate ManagementRE Navigator<your real estate object>

Choose Type of Assignment

When you assign usage objects and architectural objects to each other, you have to choose between complete and partial assignment. You enter this on the Architecture or Usage tab page, depending on the object you are starting from.

Choose one of these tab pages.

Choose with the quick info text Assign and select the type of assignment:

Complete Assignment:

If you want to copy all measurements of the object being assigned to the object you are currently processing, choose complete assignment.

Partial Assignment

If you want to assign your object to more than one other object, and therefore only want to copy part of the measurements of the object being assigned, and then choose partial assignment.

Enter the real estate object you want to assign to your object.

When you assign real estate objects, remember the Rules for the Assignment .

The system then displays the assigned object in the object hierarchy below the object you are currently processing.

If you later decide to switch between partial and complete assignment, then set or deselect the indicator in the Part.Asgn. (partial assignment) column.

The tab pages of the detail view for the assigned object contain additional information on the assignment, length of the assignment, and measurements.

If you chose complete assignment, then the measurements of the usage object and the architectural object are the same. This is displayed on the tab pages of the detail view.

If you chose partial assignment, then all partial measurements are displayed on the Measurements tab page in the detail view.

Following Process: Changing Measurements of Architectural Object

When you change the measurements of the architectural object, the system issues a message that the measurements of the assigned usage object are not up-to-date (complete assignment) or not consistent (partial assignment).

Proceed as follows:

You have to manually confirm the changes for the usage object. You see all objects with measurements that are not up-to-date in a worklist.

Choose Accounting Flexible Real Estate Management RE Navigator Worklist with the quick info text Display

All objects with measurements that are not up-to-date appear in the navigation area.

Complete Assignment:

If you assigned the objects completely, and you want to see the current measurements and the measurements to be copied, double click on the usage object and to go directly to processing.

On the Measurements tab page, choose Display from Arch. You can use this function to display the measurements of the assigned architectural object and the current measurements of the usage object, as needed.

To copy the measurements, choose with the quick info text Copy Shares from Architecture. Save.

The measurements of the architectural object are copied.

You can also update the measurements of one or more objects without going to individual processing. To do so, select the object or objects. In the context menu, choose WorklistUpdate. The measurements are updated and saved.

Partial Assignment :

If you assigned the objects partially, you can also update the measurements of one or more objects without going to individual processing. To do so, select the object or objects.

To confirm that the measurements on the usage object are nonetheless consistent, in the context menu, choose WorklistMeasurements Are Consistent. The system does not update the measurements and removes the objects from the worklist.

If you want to see the current measurements or make changes, then go to master data processing for the usage object.

Make any necessary changes to the measurements on the Measurements tab page and choose with the quick info text Registration Completed . This removes the object from your worklist.

If you assigned objects partially and reduced the measurements on the architectural object so that the measurements on the usage object are larger than those on the architectural object, you can only adjust the object or objects manually (see point b.).

Result

The measurements of the usage object were updated.
