Entering Dangerous Goods Classifications

Prerequisites

  • You have chosen the value assignment type Dangerous Goods Classification for a specification of specification type Dangerous goods classification (DG_CL_SUB) in the property tree in the EH&S Basic Data and Tools component.

  • In the EH&S Basic Data and Tools component, for specifications of specification type UN-listed substance (LS_UN_SUB), you have:

    • Created an identification number (UN number, for example) as an identifier for each specification

    • Entered the relevant dangerous goods data in the value assignment type Dangerous goods regulations

    Note Note

    In Customizing you can use customer exits to set up the way in which entries are checked in transport classification and in hazard inducer assignment, and whether they are checked at all.

Procedure

The dangerous goods classification is made up of the transport classification and the hazard inducer assignment.

  1. Open the value assignment type Dangerous Goods Classification by double-clicking it.

    The Edit Specification: Value Assignment screen appears.

  2. If required, edit the characteristics and additional information (see also Editing Value Assignments ).

  3. Choose the Transport Classific. tab page.

  4. Assign a specification of specification type UN-listed substance (LS_UN_SUB) to the dangerous goods classification for each dangerous goods regulation.

    The system transfers the type of the identification number, the identification number, the dangerous goods class, and the risk potential from the referencing UN-listed substance if this data is specified in the UN-listed substance.

    Note Note

    On the Transport Classific. tab page you can open a window displaying information on the UN-listed substance by double-clicking the assigned UN-listed substance.

  5. Choose the Hazard Inducers tab page in order to assign the hazard inducers to the dangerous goods classification in accordance with the dangerous goods regulation and the hazard inducer type.

    Note Note

    Hazard inducers must be created as specifications with certain identification types in order for you to be able to carry out this assignment. To check this, choose the IMG activity Check Identification Listing in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools . Select the identification listing D_DGHIS and choose Definition .
