Editing Exchange Rates Manually
You use this function to enter exchange rates that apply from a specified date (valid from
).
You can also access this function in Customizing under SAP Customizing
Implementation Guide
as well as in Customizing for the basic functions under Enter Exchange Rates
.
When you post and clear documents, the system uses the exchange rates defined for rate type M
to translate the currencies. There must be an entry in the system for this rate type.
The exchange rates apply for all company codes.
Before you can enter exchange rates, you need to make the following settings in SAP Customizing
under :
Check Exchange Rate Types
Define the exchange rate types for your exchange rates.
Check Currency Codes
Define the required currency keys
Define Translation Ratios for Currency Translation
Define the translation ratios.
You can make new entries and/or delete existing entries. To do this, you can use the following input help functions: Copy As
, Undo Change
, and Position
.
The system displays the currency translation ratios.
Choose .
All existing exchange rates appear in a table in the Change View “Currency Exchange Rates”: Overview
screen.
To change an existing value, you simply overwrite it.
To delete an entry, select it and choose Delete
.
To create a new entry, choose New Entries
. Enter the following data:
Exchange rate type
The From
currency and the To
currency to which the rate applies.
Note
If you have not defined any translation ratios for this combination (rate type
, from
and to
), a message appears giving you the option of making these entries.
The Valid From
date
The exchange rate

You can use the Copy As
function to copy an existing entry so that you only have to enter the Valid From
date and the new exchange rate
.
Save the data.
