Creating a Custom Attribute

Procedure

A. Creating the Attribute (in the BI System)
  1. Go to InfoObject maintenance in BI (in the SAP menu choose Start of the navigation path Modeling Next navigation step Object Maintenance Next navigation step InfoObject End of the navigation path ).

  2. Select the InfoObject for which you want to add the attribute, and choose Maintain .

  3. To create the attribute, follow the procedure described in Tab Page Attributes .

    Note Note

    If you want to be able to select an attribute when executing queries, you need to define the attribute as a navigation attribute.

The new attribute is displayed in the consolidation workbench under Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Custom Attributes End of the navigation path .

B. Creating Values for the Attribute (in the Consolidation System)
  1. Go to the consolidation workbench and choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Custom Attributes End of the navigation path .

  2. Double-click the attribute you created.

  3. To create values for the attribute, choose Create in the lower left area of the consolidation workbench.

  4. Assign a key and a description for each value.

  5. Save your entries.

Result

The attribute is now available, for example to define more information about consolidation units. (This is done in the consolidation workbench under Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Consolidation Units Next navigation step <name of characteristic> Next navigation step tab pageOther Attributes.
