Function documentationRestatement-Relevant Characteristics

Restatement-relevant characteristics have an enhanced validity. This allows you to apply new or changed characteristic values and hierarchical assignments retroactively. This, in turn, enables you to apply structure changes retroactively in restatements.

Features

Characteristics with the following roles may be relevant for restatements:

  • Consolidation unit

  • Item

  • Subassignment

The enhancements are as follows:

  • If the value of a restatement-relevant characteristic is valid in the restatement period, this value is also valid in the prior periods. This also applies to combinations of consolidation units in matrix organizations, if at least one of the consolidation units is restatement-relevant.

  • In the consolidation system, the node assignments in the consolidation unit hierarchies are time dependent (see Time and Version Dependency of Hierarchies). For the assignment of restatement-relevant consolidation units, the following also applies: If an assignment is valid in the restatement period, this assignment is also valid in the prior periods.

Activities

To specify that a characteristic is relevant for restatements, proceed as follows:

  1. Navigate to the process view of the consolidation workbench and choose Start of the navigation path Data Model Next navigation step Data Basis End of the navigation path to select your data basis.

  2. On the Data Model tab page, set the Characteristic Relevant for Restatements indicator for the characteristic under Role Assignment for Totals Records Fields.

  3. Save your changes.
