Assignment of Restatements in the Balance Carryforward
You can use this function to merge data that you entered in a restatement with other restatements or with the original data in the subsequent year. You can also suppress the balance carryforward for individual restatement data slices.
You only need to assign restatements in the balance carryforward if you want to override the standard system behavior. The balance carryforward automatically carries forward the data from the prior year separately within each restatement data slice.
You have activated the Financials, Group Close, Restatement Monitor
business function.
You can assign source restatements to target restatements. As the source restatement, you specify a restatement characteristic value for a restatement for which you want to carryforward the transaction data to the original data or a lower restatement. As the target restatement, you specify a restatement characteristic value for a restatement into which you want to carry forward the values of the source statement.
You can assign just one target restatement to a source restatement.
The target restatement must be valid in the current year. The valid-from year for the target restatement must be less than the current year. The valid-to year for the target restatement must be greater than or equal to the current year.
If a restatement references the original data, you can only assign it as target restatement to the initial restatement characteristic value.
If you have created chains of restatements, you can simultaneously carry forward the data from multiple source restatements to a target restatement or the original data. To do this, you create an assignment between the highest source restatement to be carried forward and the target restatement; you do this for each restatement characteristic value in the chain.
Example
You have created the following restatements:
Restatement 201001202 has restatement 201001201 as a reference.
Restatement 201001201 has the original data as a reference.
If you want to carry forward the data from both restatements to the original data, you need to create the following two assignments:
You assign source restatement 201001202 to target restatement 000000000.
You assign source restatement 201001201 to target restatement 000000000.
You can only assign a target restatement to a source restatement if the source restatement has a reference. If the restatement does not have a reference, you can suppress only the balance carryforward for this restatement.
If you select the No Balance Carryforward
checkbox for a specific restatement characteristic value, the system suppresses the balance carryforward for all transaction data for this restatement characteristic value.
