The Analytics lane provides users with a single point of access to the reports and analyses that are relevant for them. It is part of the landing page. The user can run the reports directly from the Analytics lane and thus find and evaluate data for individual employees or groups of employees in the system.

The Analytics lane contains reports that are based on different technologies. For a clearer overview, the reports are grouped into report categories thematically. A short description is stored for each report that provides the user with information about the corresponding report.

Prerequisites

In your SAP NetWeaver Gateway system, you have maintained the OData (Open Data Protocol) service Launchpad (Technical Service Name /UI2/LAUNCHPAD) in Customizing under Start of the navigation path SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step Gateway Next navigation step OData Channel Next navigation step Administration Next navigation step General Settings Next navigation step Activate and Maintain Services End of the navigation path.

You have made the settings for the Analytics lane in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Personnel & Organization Next navigation step Landing Page Next navigation step Analytics Lane End of the navigation path.

Features

The Analytics lane contains all reports that are available for the user. The user can flag important reports as favorites. The user can then call these favorites, as well as the last-used reports, via a lane.

In the standard system, the following report categories and reports are part of the Analytics lane:

Ad Hoc Reporting

This category contains the ad hoc query for creating your own reports.

Headcount Analysis

This category contains the reports for analysing the headcount.

Note Note

The reports delivered in the standard system for this category are based on Web Dynpro ABAP technology. Hierarchies cannot be displayed for reports that are based on this technology.

The data retrieval for these reports is based on Operational Data Provisioning. You can use reports that are based on this technology if the business function HCM, Operational Data Provisioning for Analytics (HCM_ANALYTICS_2) is activated in your system.

This category contains reports for organizational units.

Positions

This category contains reports for positions.

US Legal

This category contains reports that create US-relevant evaluations that are required by law.
