Visualization of Organizational Structures
In the application Personnel & Organization
(Web Dynpro application HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA
), the system represents the organizational structures as an organizational tree or organizational chart. For more information about structures, see Relationships (Infotype 1001).
You can switch between the integrated search and these two visualizations of organizational structures in the left-hand screen area of the application.
To be able to use the functions of the organizational chart, you need to have activated the business function HCM, PD Visualization 02
(HCM_PD_UI_2
).
You have defined which organizational data you want to visualize in the application Personnel & Organization
. For more information, see Customizing for the component Personnel & Organization
and choose Organizational Chart/Tree
.
To display an organizational structure, you first need to have selected an object in the application Personnel & Organization
. If you then select one of the two available display options, the system displays the organizational structure that is part of the selected object.
If you display organizational structures as an organizational tree, you have the following functions available:
You can display the selected structure for either the current date or for a selected period. If you select a period, the system displays all objects that are part of this structure on the current date and all object assignments that start or end in the selected period. The system indicates starting and ending object assignments with a relevant icon.
You can choose between different views (function View
). A view defines which assignments (relationships in infotype 1001) are to be displayed as a structure. You define views in Customizing.
For each object, the system displays a selection of the object properties stored in the system. In Customizing, you define for each view which columns the system displays.
If an object has multiple relevant assignments for the selected view, you can display this multiple assigment in the overview. If you have used the integrated search to select such an object and select the function Organizational Tree
, under a structure node Multiple Assignment
, the system automatically displays all substructures to which the object is assigned. If you select such an object in a structure that is already displayed, you can use the function Navigate
to call the structure node Multiple Assignment
.
You can perform actions for the objects in the displayed structure.
If you display organizational structures as an organizational chart, you have the following functions available:
You can display the selected structure for the current date.
You can choose between different views (function Structure
). A view defines which assignments (relationships in infotype 1001) are to be displayed as a structure. You define views in Customizing.
For each object, the system displays a selection of the object properties stored in the system. In Customizing, you define for each view which data the system displays. You can define multiple data combinations for each view. You can select these combinations in the chart as required (function Data
).
If an object has multiple relevant assignments for the selected view, you can display this multiple assigment in the overview. If you have used the integrated search to select such an object and select the function Organizational Tree
, under a structure node Multiple Assignment
, the system automatically displays all substructures to which the object is assigned.
You can perform actions for the objects in the displayed structure.
You can search for search terms within the displayed structure.
You can use various functions to change the display of the structure, for example, zoom, show and hide object properties, set filters. You define some of the display options in Customizing.
