To be able to use SAP Query as a search tool, assign an InfoSet to each of the search categories you want to use. The system uses your additional Customizing settings to automatically generate the queries required for the search (user group SYSTGENERATE). For more information, see Customizing for the component Personnel & Organization and choose Start of the navigation path Search Next navigation step Configure Search Categories (SAP Query) End of the navigation path. You make the following settings for each search category:

  • Search fields

For all search functions, you define which InfoSet fields the system is to use to search for the search term that the user enters in the search field.

  • Output fields

For all search functions , you define which InfoSet fields the system is to use to output data for the determined objects in the results list.

  • Extended search criteria

For the integrated search, you define which InfoSet fields are to be available as extended search criteria.

  • Filter criteria

For each search lane, you define which InfoSet fields are to be available as filter criteria in the search lane.

  • Default values

For all search functions, you determine which InfoSet fields you want the system to use to determine default values while the user is entering a search term as well as which fields are to be used for outputting default values.
