Before you provision systems, ensure that the general prerequisites are met.

You clone a system, to create a duplicate of an existing system with an identical system ID.

You clone a system near zero downtime (nZDM) to apply Support Packages with a reduced business downtime.

You copy a system to create a duplicate of an existing system with a different host name and a unique system ID. SAP Landscape Management creates a copy of the existing system and renames the copy.

You refresh a system to overwrite an existing target system with the latest data from a source system while maintaining the configuration.

You overwrite existing data on a target database with the latest data from a source database while maintaining configuration settings of your application server instances.

You overwrite existing data on a target database by replicating data from a source database.

You restore an SAP HANA database, either by using a complete file-based database backup or by using backup data that has been written to a third-party backup tool.

You rename a system to change system ID, host names, instance numbers, and mount points from the source system to the target system.

You execute post-copy automation (PCA) standalone to carry out several configuration steps on a system that was not provisioned by SAP Landscape Management.
