Executing Operations on Instances with an SAP Focused Run System Assigned to Them

You perform operations on systems that have an SAP Focused Run system assigned to them.

Prerequisites

Context

When you want to perform an operation on a managed system that is assigned to an SAP Focused Run system, SAP Landscape Management checks whether a workmode in SAP Focused Run IT Calendar contradicts your planned operation.

Procedure

  1. Choose Operations.
  2. Choose Systems from the tabs.
  3. From the Operations dropdown for the instance or the managed system on which you want to perform the operation, choose the operation required.

Results

When you trigger the operation, SAP Landscape Management connects to the SAP Focused Run system that is assigned to the managed system and checks its IT calendar. If your selected operation contradicts your work mode that is assigned in the IT calendar, a warning message appears. You can ignore the warning and continue with the execution of your selected operation, or you can cancel the operation.

If you choose a stop operation, SAP Landscape Management assigns the work mode Planned Downtime to the assigned SAP Focused Run system.

If you choose a start operation, SAP Landscape Management shortens the work mode Planned Downtime from the assigned SAP Focused Run system.
