Defining Report Data

Key figure sets are used only by the Report Writer and contain specific key figures. A key figure refers to a numerical value field stored in a database table. Such key figures are called basic key figures . You can combine a basic key figure with one or more additional characteristics entered in a set to create a key figure . The set determines additional selection conditions, such as the record type (actual or plan data) and the plan version.

Examples of basic key figures used in key figure sets include:

  • Transaction currency

  • Local currency

  • Group currency

  • Quantity

Examples of additional characteristics that can be combined with a basic key figure include:

  • Actual amount (record type)

  • Plan amount (record type)

  • Allocated actual (record type)

  • Allocated plan (record type)

  • Year

  • Period

When you use a key figure set in a report, the system selects the currency/quantity and record type specified in the key figure set.

Example Example

You create a key figure set that contains actual data (record type) in local currency (key figure). If you use this set in a report, the system displays actual data in local currency.

End of the example.
