Prerequisites

You can only create a new commission contract if the business partner already exists in the system in the role of commission contract partner . For this reason you must enter an existing business partner number that you can determine using search help, if you do not know the number.

If the business partner has not yet been entered in the system, you must create him/her in the role of commission contract partner (Commission System menu: Master Data Commission Contract Partner Create ). The prerequisite for this activity is that you are authorized to create business partners. Once you have entered business partner data, you can return to the commission contract and continue from there.

Creating Commission Contracts Retroactively

It is possible to create a commission contract retroactively. The system checks whether the corresponding business partner has already been created at the effective start date. Retroactive changes are not permitted in SAP Business Partner, and so the system would issue a warning message. Nevertheless, you can still continue to create the commission contract retroactively.

Contract Template

You can create a template for a commission contract with individual agreements to simplify the creation of a new contract. You configure the individual agreements that can and cannot be used in Customizing for Incentive and Commission Management under Exclude Field Groups for Contract Template .

Procedure

Select the number range assignment category.

Internal number assignment:

Leave the entry field Commission contract number empty . The system automatically assigns a number. If no errors occur, the commission contract is created with the defaulted number.Otherwise, the system displays a corresponding error message.

External number assignment:

Enter a number in the entry field Commission contract number. The system checks whether the assigned number is in an external number range. If no errors occurred, the system creates the contract with the proposed number. Otherwise, the system issues a corresponding error message.

Choose an existing business partner under Commission contract partner . If you need to, search for the business partner using the (F4) search help. If the business partner does not exist in the commission system, you need to create it in the SAP Business Partner first. Once you have entered the commission contract partner, the system displays name and address data of this business partner.

Assign a standard contract to the commission contract.

By entering a standard contract number, you assign each commission contract to a standard contract. If you need to, search for the number using the (F4) search help. In the search help you can display standard contracts depending, for example, on the contract type selected.

You can only enter one standard contract number that is valid at the time you make the entry. The standard contract number also defines the contract type (such as full-time employee , agent , and so on). This information is displayed to you when you enter the standard contract number.

When you assign a commission contract to a standard commission contract, the system checks whether the assignment of the business partner type and the required commission contract type is valid.

The standard contract number that has been selected determines various things, including the content of the other screens.

Specify the effective validity date under the Versioning attributes section (key date or range). By doing so, you determine the time spot from which the commission contract is effectively valid. The default value for the contract start date Effective from date is displayed as the current date.

To limit the contract, you need to enter the date under Effectively valid to. The system checks whether the data entered matches the effective validity interval of the assigned standard commission contract.

In the tab pages of the commission contract, enter the individual contract features.

Once you have taken the above steps, you have created a new commission contract.
