User Administration and Authentication

The user management in SAP Cloud ALM is divided into two components: Whereas primary identity information is stored in the connected identity provider, the user access and authorizations can be managed directly in SAP Cloud ALM.


    Identity Management
    In SAP Cloud ALM, the Identity Authentication service (IAS) assumes the role of the identity provider. Business users sign in to SAP Cloud ALM with the mechanisms and credentials defined there.
    Roles, Role Collections, and Role Templates
    Users that are maintained in the Identity Authentication tenant don't automatically get access to SAP Cloud ALM. They need to be added to the User Management app in SAP Cloud ALM first. This is also where they're given the roles they need for their tasks.

    There are additional ways in which you can restrict access in different SAP Cloud ALM applications.
