Help Functions and Business Add-Ins

Use

There are various help functions available in Customizing for administering the personalization framework and the personalization data entered.

In addition, you can use corresponding Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for enhancements such as checks and data conversions.

Help functions

To administer the personalization data entered you can use the following IMG activities under Help Functions in the Personalization Environmen t :

  • Personalization Data: Single Processing : is used to simulate the personalization data entry by an end user in the portal.

    Note Note

    Only use this IMG activity where there has been an error, and you want to follow the entries made by an end user in the portal. If you want to enter personalization data administratively for an end user, user the IMG activity Personalization Data: Collective Processing .

  • Display Personalization Data : shows the personalization data entered by both the user and the administrator.

  • Delete Personalization Data : enables the deletion of the personalization data entered by both the user and the administrator.

  • Reorganize Personalization Data : is essentially used to copy personalization data from one personalization application to another.

To administer the components of the personalization framework you can use the following IMG activities under Help Functions in the Personalization Environmen t :

  • Edit Personalization Hierarchy

  • Edit Personalization Dialog

Business Add-Ins

You can use the following BadIs under Business Add-Ins for checks and data conversions:

  • BAdI: Personalization - Authorization Checks : makes it possible to check authorizations for the characteristic values of a personalization application.

  • BAdI: Personalization - Existence Check : makes it possible to check whether an object that has been personalized as a characteristic value even exists.

    Note Note

    You should note that for performance reasons both checks only cover the entry of personalization data by the end user in the portal, and not the collective processing by the administrator.

  • BAdI: Personalization - Resolve Intervals and Groups : resolves intervals and groups entered for a characteristic into single values.

  • BAdI: Personalization - Conversion of Data Formats : converts data from internal to external format and vice versa.

With SAP ECC , implementations are delivered for all BadIs.
