MPD Data Collector Tab Page On the
MPD Data Collector
tab page, you can collect data from different sources, for example a document information record (DIR), which could be a service bulletin or maintenance requirement. This data can be stored in a DIR on the MPD-specific tab pages, making this DIR a template that would then be used by the MPD Workbench to mass maintain maintenance plans.
When you create a new BAdI implementation of the
MPD Data Collector
BAdI, you must create a corresponding short text for it, which is then displayed in the drop-down menu in the
Data Transfer
column. You do this in Customizing for
On the
MPD
tabpage you can:
Data Collector
Link documents
See and set the direction of the data flow between documents using active, passive or two-way links. The links have the following uses:
To determine the source and target document for the standard effectivity implementation of the
MPD Data Collector
BAdI. The BAdI uses the source document and the Customizing settings (
MPD Settings for Document Types
) to populate the
MPD Effectivity
tab page for the target document.
To determine the source or target document for your own implementation of the
MPD Data Collector
BAdI. If the link is active, the document currently open in the transaction is considered the source document. If the link is passive, the document currently open in the transaction is considered the target document. You can use your own BAdI implementation to collect data from different documents and/or other sources and populate all of the MPD tab pages in the DMS.
To determine which objects are shown in the structure browser in the MPD Workbench.
All the documents with an active link in the document currently open in the DMS will be displayed underneath it in the structure browser in the MPD Workbench.
All the documents with an passive link in the document currently open in the DMS will not be displayed underneath it in the structure browser in the MPD Workbench.
All the documents with a two-way link will also be displayed.
Copy object links from one document to another
Once you have linked a document, you can copy its object links, for example, the link to a functional location, to the document currently open in the DMS.
