Employee

 

The main objectives for an employee role are as follows:

  • Search for any employee in the organizational structure

  • View the employee’s reporting line and peer’s reporting line.

Note Note

The employee can launch the solution from the Search lane under Employee Self-Service (ESS) application. As part of standard Customizing, employees can view only employee reporting line view.

Features

The following features are available for the employee role:

  • Navigation

    • Navigation panel

    You can easily navigate to view higher levels in the organization structure using the navigation panel.

    • Drill down

    You can drill down to any level in the employee reporting structure within the expanded pod.

    • Up and down arrow buttons

    You can move one level up or move one level down in the organizational structure.

    • Pagination

    You can expand the stacked cards to display peer group. You can navigate the peer group using pagination.

  • Search

    You can search and filter for an employee within the expanded pod. You can search using employee name or employee position. These fields are provided as part of standard delivery in the Customizing by SAP. However, you can customize the fields and search based on the new customized fields.

    Note Note

    Employee card displays only 2 fields. Therefore, the criterion to search is limited only to these 2 fields.

  • Actions

    You can view additional information about an employee using the Quick View button. You can perform actions on yourself such as send leave request, record time, and so on. On choosing the Number of Employees button, you can directly open the expanded pod to view the reporting employees of the selected employee. You can configure the standard actions in the launchpad (transaction LPD_CUST) using the following role and instance:

    • Launchpad Role: ESS

    • Launchpad Instance: MENU

    You can override the actions configured under this launchpad role and instance.

  • Multiple Managers

    You can view scenarios wherein an employee can report to multiple managers. The numbered card is used to depict the multiple mangers scenario. On expansion of the numbered card, you can view the details of each manager on a single card or on the stacked cards.
