Creating Subaccounts

Prerequisites

  • You have your global account on SAP BTP.
  • You are the administrator for the global account.

Context

A subaccount is required to logically structure the global account according to the requirements of an organization or project.

Procedure

  1. Open the SAP BTP cockpit.
  2. Navigate to the global account.
  3. In the navigation area, choose Subaccounts.

    The subaccounts of the global account are displayed as tiles.

  4. Choose New Subaccount.

    The New Subaccount dialog box is displayed.

  5. In the dialog box, fill in the following fields:
    Field Name Description
    Display Name Enter a name for the subaccount.
    Description Enter a desription for the subaccount.
    Environment Select the Cloud Foundry environment. An environment is required to associate a subaccount.
    Provider Select the preferred provider (for example, AWS or Azure). The providers operate the infrastructure layer or data center used by the subaccount. For more information, refer to Data Center - Providers and Regions.
    Region Select the appropriate region (SAP data center location). For more information, refer to Data Center - Providers and Regions.
    Subdomain You can specify any string of characters for a subdomain. Enter a logical text. The subdomain can contain only lowercase letters and digits and must be unique across all accounts in the same region of the Cloud Foundry environment for SAP BTP. The subdomain appears as a part of the Fiori launchpad (FLP) URL. Once entered, the subdomain cannot be changed.
    Enable beta features This optional field must not be enabled.

  6. Choose Create.

    The subaccount is created and added to the global account.

  7. To view details about the subaccount, choose the subaccount tile.

    The overview screen is displayed, and in the Subaccount Details block of the screen, the subdomain and the subaccount ID details are displayed.

Results

The subaccount is created.
